Looking for new friends in new community. A true story of mine - PART I.

Most of the time, people are travelling, shifting from one place to another during their life. Be it moving to new school, new house, new city, or new country. And in the new environment, we all have to be able to adapt with the people in our current place.

In my life, I've been shifted to different places due to my father's job and also my study. I was born in South Sumatera and live there since I was 4 years old. Then I shifted to Cirebon (a city in the border of West and Central Java) on 1985 before shifted again to Medan (North Sumatera) when on 1989. When I reached 10 years old we shifted again to Jakarta which happened to be my family last resort. But not for me, on 1999, I started to stay only with my grandmother at Bandung until 2005. And from 2005 onwards, I'm here at Kuala Lumpur.

The whole journey was forcing me to adapt with all the environment. When I was a baby, of course I wasn't really infected with my surrounding since I still don't know anything. But when I was at Cirebon, most of the people speak Javanese language then I had to learn their language as well. In Medan, people speak Batak language and that time I also had to blend my language into them. Same thing happened when finally I shifted to Jakarta. That time I was like 'kampong girl came to big city' while everybody laughing at me when I said "saya" intead of "gue". But thankfully, I can learn fast eventhough some people still thought that I wasn't eligible enough to be 'their friend'.

my closest friends at Jakarta that time, not that close anymore now...

Moving to Bandung on 1999 wasn't a very good story as well. Eventhough Sunda language (language from West Java/Bandung) is supposed to be my mother tongue coz my both parents originally came from West Java, but I often found some difficulties as well at the first place. Living in Bandung also required me to speak Sunda language. From I was a baby born until I was 18, I never got a chance to learn to speak the language. I only can understand when my family speak the language, but not replying it.

Friends bullying me coz I can't speak Sunda language? That's for sure. But finally I got some friends that really really close, they are all like my brothers and sisters for me. The relationship between me and friends in Bandung is even stronger from anyone else in this world. Because they are the first person there for me everytime in need help or guidance while my family are so far far away from me. They taught me so many precious things I know I couldn't pay back. The sincere friendship is above everything I could get in the world. Here is my pics with some of my best friends in Bandung:

I get along with guys better than woman. Maybe because that time I was a bit tomboyish. I love music that guys like; rap, punk, rock, etc. And I don't really like shopping and make up. My hobbies are sport and automotive. Those are friends that will still be there everytime I came to Bandung. So loving them til now :)

And how about friends in KL?

To be continued...
