Indomie dilarang kat Taiwan!

I was so happy when INDOMIE FINALLY BACK TO KL. But now a bit worried.

Just saw the news on TV this evening that there is raid on Indomie product at Taiwan. It said that the instant noodle got methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (pengawet untuk cosmetic product) which the level is higher than what is allowed in Taiwan. Like for example, in US, the maximum level of methyl p-hydroxybenzoate is 1.000 mg per kg. While in Hongkong it is only 550 mg per kg.

Taiwan is one of the biggest market for Indomie, seeing that there are so many workers from Indonesia works there. And now many Taiwanese also choose to eat Indomie rather than their mee product. Could this be just a market war? Hmmm, I can't say anything now.

But Bambang Mulyanto, Head of Indonesia Trade and Business in Taipei said Indomie that got on the food raid were exported from Indonesia by other party (not Indofood, the company that produce Indomie). So those Indomie were supposed to be consume in Indonesia only and the price also cheaper.

(Hooo, yeah... are you telling me that Indomie for Indonesia is less healthy than what Taiwanese should have?)

So what is it with Indomie in Malaysia? Tan Sri Liaw Tiong Lai, Malaysia Ministry of Health said that they just took a sample from Indomie and will come back soon with the result. Hope Indomie in Malaysia is safe enough for us to consume.

But whatever it is, consuming instant noodles is not recommended. Yes, I do love mee, Indomie, or any other mee. But only consume it whenever I feel lazy to cook while most of the time I choose to cook than consuming those kind of instant thingy. But yeah, I do hope someone can clarify this problem and speak up the truth for the world health.

More news about it please check: HERE.
