7 things to keep you strong on bulan puasa

pic by mr. Google

My doctor said puasa is good for health because there are time when your body (esp.stomach) have to take a break like Kit Kat from working so hard to digest food. And we all should remember, eating too much is not good for health because we have to keep the balance of what's inside our stomach that are 1/3 air 1/3 water and 1/3 food.

On my first week of puasa, everything seems okay. I didn't even remember that I'm fasting. I didn't feel hungry at all. I don't care when people eating beside me, coz I'm okay with that. Starting at mid of second week, I'm feeling a bit weak. Probably because during my first week, I never try to maintain my health. Never manage what I eat to keep my body fit.

So how is it to keep us from getting 'weak' during fasting month? How to keep doing normal activities while we are fasting?

1. Motivation/intention

Believe it or not, your motivation in doing fasting will help you become stronger. Try it! Believe in yourself that you can do it, then yes you surely can do it! Coz for me, I've been doing this for years and I always believe I can do it. So whatever it is, eventhough I feel so hungry, everything will still be ok for me :)

2. Eat nutritious food

Don't forget to balance whatever you have for your sahur/berbuka. Choose food that contain carbo, protein, fat (ahaha...), vitamin, and mineral to energize your day.

3. Skipping sahur??

Sahur will support our extra energy during our activities in one day. If you think you are not interested in eating too early, try to eat oat, agar2, gula2, biscuit, or fruit.

4. Drink plain water

Avoid dehydration! Drink more plain water after sahur. Usually before Imshak try to clean your mouth by drinking water ya...

5. Do not eat too sweet food/drink

Those type of food will release insulin and makes you feel hungry and tired in just short time. It is better to eat natural sweet food contains high fibre to keep it lasting longer.

6. Buka puasa on time

Buka puasa with sweet food (not too sweet yea), then do your prayers then try to go for the main course after 30-60minutes. Keep it slow, not too rush. Perbanyak buah dan sayuran.

7. Exercise? Serious?

Doing exercise in the morning will make you feel tired. So, do some exercise to keep you stay fit and healthy 1-2 hours before buka puasa. (Habiskan balance your body power, akaka... lepas tu terus makan)

Okay, hope those simple tips will keep you healthy and strong until the last day of Ramadhan...
Selamat Berpuasa... :)
